Week 4 - Sept 18th

This week was ________________ !

Tell me how you feel after your first LIVE broadcast: (be "thoughty")

What went well this week?

What could have gone better?

Think about the RamTV staff team, what are our strengths and challenges?

Now look at yourself, what strength(s) do you bring to the staff?

What one area do you need to work on to further strengthen the team?

Are there obstacles in the near future? October 2nd is the first broadcast.

What are you most proud of relating to this week of class?

Anything else….

This week was EPIC! I felt like we did relatively well for our first live broadcast ever. We could have been a lot more enthusiastic while presenting, which we tried to improve in our second broadcast. I believe our greatest strength is our will to achieve greatness. I feel the strengths I bring to the cast are enthusiasm and dedication. One area I need to work on is being prepared before live. There will be many obstacles in the future but we will over come them. I am so psyched about our show on the 2nd!!! I am proud of our ability to quickly catch on to our mistakes and make changes to improve.

This week was MEH mixed with OH YEAH! XD

I was so proud that we got the first LIVE broadcast off the ground, but I do feel like we need a bit of work. I'm not expecting us to be expert reporters like Matt Lauer or Katie Couric, but it's also difficult. We have to make sure the lights are perfect, the mic is working, the cameras are set correctly and if they are on, etc. It's so much, but I hope we can get through it and that I can do amazing when it's my turn to be an anchor.

I think the anchors did oa great job this week. For the very first broadcast, I think they delivered the information decently, regardless of what others said. Sure they could have been a bit more enthusiastic, but this is also a learning process. We will learn so much more as we continue with these broadcasts. I think we could have been a little more prepared, definitely on September 16th. We all were kind of goofing off that day, and the final result was good, but not amazing. Maybe that's me being a bit of perfectionist, but oh well.

I think our strengths is our differences and our what we each can bring to the table. Everyone has a special something about them that stands out. It may be Charles' connection to the camera, etc. We all have something special that can make this the best RamTV yet. Our challenges is that we may bicker a lot. It's more like family bickering though. We are like a family though. Holly's the sister, Charles is the goofy cousin, and Jason is...Jason XD. We have to get over the bickering, but we are teens and we can step on each others toes at times.

I think I bring a quirky humor to the team. I'm not the outspoken, crazy guy, nor am I the wallflower. I'm more of a laid back guy who needs to break out of his shell a bit and show my quirky side. I also have a bit of know how in video making and editing. I'm not amazing in IMovie, but I can create a nice video. The area I need to work on is not being so camera shy. I do have a connection in front of the camera, but it comes out when I'm with a group of people and when we are all goofing off. I just need to take that side of me, tone it down a bit, and bring it to Ram Daily Announcements.

There's so many obstacles that we have to overcome. We have to adjust to different roles. We need to make last year's Ram TV look like crap compared to ours(I'm not even going to elaborate on last year's RamTV). We also need to make an AMAZING show that appeals to the students and the teachers. We have so many obstacles that we must overcome, but I think we can do it, and we have to do it if we want to have a successful RamTV this year.

I'm most proud of getting to see everyone in action. It was like we were working at a very small NBC or something. Everyone just flocked to their positions, and me being the floater made me feel like a lazy slacker. I did feel a bit useless, since everyone else had something else to do and I kind of just ran simple errands. Next week, I hope I can have a much more helpful job and I won't feel so useless.

I do think RamTV will rock this year, and I know that the October 2nd premiere will be so KILLER!!!

This is so freakin corny but I must say it..

RAM TV UNITE!!

This week was 1337!

I feel that we all did a great job with the live broadcast. I think we all came together and figured it all out. I think we all worked well, and stayed on task during the broadcast.

We had a lot of things go good this week, and then we had some bad things go wrong. We all done our job the best we could, I believe. I just think we felt we had a time crunch when one of the mic's went out. After that the bell rung, then the slide got messed up. Overall the second live broadcast was a failure. The first one went well, no tech. difficulties.

There are a lot of obstacles in the next up and coming weeks. We have to make a good first RamTV. I know we will do good. We have a good staff, and I'm glad to be working with such cool people.

this week was
ALRIGHT!!
i'm psyched that we did the broadcasts. less psyched about the problems we had, but nonetheless excited for things to come from us. no lie, it was FAR from perfect, but i see us rocking this whole live thing. video switching needs to be worked on, but hey, i'll take the blame for that one, we did some great things this week on the broadcasts as a group, we worked intricately, and without each others' jobs, we would have crashed and burned. we got away with a scrape on the paint of the car that is ramNEWS.

our challenges
we need to work on our enthusiasm. which we did! yay duarte and charles!
video switcher.
way to suck self!
seriously though. need to work on reaction to unknown quirks in equipment and/or timing.

we have amazing talents as staff members, we just have to get them out there for the school to see. we have people that jump in with both feet, and we have details people, what we have people, is the potential for a great live show. we just need to work on our priorities of work.

i should work on stepping out and working outside of my comfort zone and take a challenge that someone else is struggling with... or something like that.

things to work on for the future?
timing, procrastination, organization, the laundry list could go on, but that's nitpicking.
the one big thing we need to as a group work on is teamwork.. we see things as an individual effort, whereas if we saw them as a team, or one working organism, we might be able to get things done.

psyched for october second.

i am most proud of our anchors for knowing their stuff and when to say what, and most of all, keeping focus on the camera, they are a good representation for ramTV and ramNEWS for our first broadcasts.

anything else?
lock the prop cabinet on live days.

This week was a pretty good one. The first live broadcast was seriously well pulled off. We did a lot better than I thought. Not saying that I was expecting us to do badly, but it was our first show and all. So I expected a lot to go wrong. I will say that it may not have been perfect, but I am feeling much more confident on what we can do for the live broadcast. I think that we need to add a bit more enthusiasm when we are the anchors, while keeping it professional. We need to find the happy medium. I think we all need to just keep our focus on broadcast days. Wednesday was a good example of this, because we tended to bust out the props instead of staying on task. Also, we addressed in the “come to Jesus” meeting what needs to be done about the teleprompter and announcement jobs. I’m not really sure what strengths I bring to the staff. I just know I’ll do whatever I’m told to do. So, if there is like an errand that needs to be done, I’ll do it. Or if anything needs to be fixed. I know that our show on Wednesday wasn’t the best, and hopefully we will learn from our mistakes that day. I’m also hoping we can also multitask with producing the daily shows, while also trying to edit the Oct 2nd broadcast.

this week was an epic learning experience. after rocking our 1st broadcast i left our class highly confident in our staff's ability to work together. overall i think everything was close to perfect. i think we could have lightened it up a little not been as dull about presenting the announcements that we all see everyday. myself personally, i feel that i need to work on my camera presence and being more comfortable when being filmed. in response to questions of the 10-2-09 show, i know well have bumps but [excuse my language] "We GoT DiS"

This week was a roller coaster in slow motion... Certain circumstances and moments shouldn't have occurred, but that is life! The first broadcast went well, but there were glitches...and they escape my memory at the present moment. Wednesday was...well...a learning experience.

So many things glitched...and it has all been covered by other posts. We all need to work on the backbiting and mouthiness. Obstacles in the near future are equipment issues, but the real problems are the ones we cannot see yet.

In relation to this week of class, the actual functioning of our class when thrown together is enough for anyone to be proud of...but it either happens or not.

This week was a learning process. Everything went preety good we all mastered our positions even though they are about to change. We could've spent our time much better on Wednesday. I believe that as a staff our greatest strength and challenge is that we are all strong headed for the most part but we are all determined to do well. I bring to the staff leadership skills and I am willing to do or learn any job. I need to work on staying focused right before we go live. There a few obstacles on the future but I'm not worried, we will get everything done and ready on time by the 2nd.
