Such a small statement, yet it speaks volumes. I'm not even going to lie, Wednesday's broadcast was the worst broadcast we had ever had. It wasn't because of the slip up that happened on the broadcast, it was because we failed to prepare for this broadcast as a team. On Wednesday, the chain that is the RamTV students was rusty, and that's an understatement. I can think of so many things that we could have done. We could have prepared more, we could have helped the anchors out a little more, but what's done is done. We can't change what happened, and sadly, we lost one of our RamTV members. I'm not going into how I feel about that, because my opinion doesn't change anything.
I hope that we can learn from what happened earlier and we can continue to turn out amazing broadcasts. This was something that knocked us a few steps back, so we need to take a few steps ahead. I want to prove to not only Mr. Wingfield and Mr.Dedmon, but to you Ms. L, that we can do so much better than that.
A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link…How true that is on so many levels; however, it isn’t just the one link in our case. An entire chain must be able to flex to some extent to compensate for the twists and turns placed upon it. We were all pretty inflexible links, and that sure didn’t help a thing. Even a strong link can be made ductile under such circumstances. While there was one outstanding issue, there were many more failures that day.
The fact we are still not a team this far in is a terrible sign we just may continue to fail. What is it that each person can do to substitute for the fact a team is necessary? Nothing. We all need to remember that. It was not but one person failed, we all failed. This point has been beaten pretty heavily, but it is truth. We all failed. The self-concern far outweighed the welfare of the group. I do not believe any other thing need be said on this.
Well the broadcast bombed a lot. Ummm . . . was very embarrassed to state I was a part of ramtv. As for the quote it's true but I think we can and we will overcome this little mishap. Only as long no one else even sneezes the wrong way.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, this means when one fails we all fail but what we often do not see is what caused this failing situation to occur. I think after sitting down and discussing everything that happened we all learned a lot and learned a valuable lesson, we must all work as a strong team or we will not succeed. The actions of one are reflected on all of us as a whole.
i agree with this statement. i thought what happened was very inappropriate. i was embarrassed to be apart of the RamTV staff after what was said. i hope in the future this never happens.
its like anything that works with a team effort. If someone messes up then it will effect everyone else. I just think that we or any one should test the strength of their links before putting them into action.
well, little statement, and i really could care less about the events of last wednesday. i know it was serious and all, but it doesn't affect me whatsoever, it's her actions, and nothing off my back... sure, we're being wathced, and sure, i seem like a real jerk right now, but i don't care.
as far as the statement, it goes back to the whole "we're a family" mentality. we win together, or we fail together. that's it. done. bye.
This statement is one widely used in this class. As a team, a chain, we depend on each link to keep going strong. However, it only takes one link to loose strength and make the chain break. That day was just not a great day at all. While only one specific event was focused on, there were many different small events that snowballed into that. We are a family. And because of the weak link, we have completely lost a link. There is nothing we can do now, but try and build back the strength we once had.
the statement is more than true. L couldnt have said it better when she says "we can either sail into the sunset together or fail together." on this broadcast we failed. Alot of things went terribly wrong, but thats no excuse for the ultimate wrong to come into play. I understand the seriousness of what happened and how it directly effected RamTV, but I personally feel that everyone else has felt that pressure of being in front of that camera but we all had to grow up like the seniors we are and take the good with the bad. What happened majorly could've ended the class. something just as bad happened, we lost a member of the class. we cant change it we just have to be thankful that we still have a class, and be well aware that we have 0 chances left to make mistakes.
