The group dynamic seems relatively good to me. We seem to be getting better day by day at the jobs we do. I also beleive we are all learning how to get along on a more professional level with each other.
We are rarely on time with a show deadline because (1) this is obvious, but the computers in the lab are anything but efficient. (2) It seems like a lot of us are having way too much down time when we could be filming, importing, editing, etc. (3) I think there is one positive from this, I truly believe our shows are of high quality and quality takes time, regardless though, we should use our time more effectively to reach deadlines.
Our live daily broadcasts have gradually gotten better because of one thing. Experience, the more times you do something, the better you will do it and the more comfortable you will feel doing it. I feel like we are at a point where everyone is relatively comfortable with at atleast one job for live.
Individuals are rarely on time with PSA's and individual projects because of once again, a lack of time management and we have our technical difficulties every now and then.... or all the time...
the dynamic of the group seems okay to me. No one has started war world three for a couple of weeks now. Everyone now understands their position and responsibilities to the group. We are rarely on time with the show deadline because we get confused on what is left to be done because several things have either been cut or altered i nsome way. Our live daily broadcasts have gradually gotten better because everyone has almost learned each job, but as of yesterday we still need work. Individuals are rarely on time with PSA's and individual projects because they think it will be easy and they don't take it seriously.
Ah, the dynamic of the RamTV Staff… what a fickle thing it is. Honestly, by the time I finish typing this it may have changed. Who knows when the next conflict will occur? Currently, there appears to be much less bickering going on, but I may end up eating my words. The recent developments, if any, have gone unnoticed by me due to a new mind set of, “keep the blinders on.” Though my blinders don’t fit like they used to, I’ve not taken note of much fighting.
Being on task is not an easy thing for RamTV staff members. While I do understand having a bit of a focus problem, especially when there are new circumstances mixed in, I do not understand the level of difficulty attributed to the tasks in this class. The previous statement is definitely in no way shape or form saying I am perfect, but I feel I am a tad bit better about staying on task than some. In my last rotation as Director/Producer, and even as Anchor, the activity bothered me very much… Though even saying so did nothing.
Before I end up writing a novelette, allow me to regress to the final questions. A few reasons why we are rarely on time include: a general feeling of laziness, an unwillingness to "act right," an unnecessary and unproductive level of personal defense, and, quite possibly, ignorance (which, in this case, is interchangeable with apathy). Should I honestly detail them all or continue?
There have been improvements in our broadcasts due to experience. We are, for the most part, in the routine of it all. There are moments when this machine gets a random gear thrown in, but we are, slowly, learning to deal with these things as they come.
To be quite frank, I have no earthly idea why individuals are really on time with their respective projects. Personally, I have, for the majority of instances, been rather good about project deadlines. If, for some reason, you wish for a list please allow me to direct your attention to paragraph 3.
group dynamic is getting gradualy better... i like the fact that we now leening to a specaility job and a secondary job. And everyone seems to be getting more comfortiable in their job.
we are rarely on time because people get done with thier parts at a different pace then others and because that it makes the editors have to wait till the last minute to finish a show.
Our live daily broadcast have gotten better because of specailization of jobs. People become more comforitable in there jobs and in return become much better at them.
We are not always on time because of two things... 1) we ocassionaly waste our time. and 2) computer malfunctions and just that we have really old computers....
The group dynamic still needs some work. I still feel that we are everywhere and we all are doing things that are conducive to the show, but we are not communicating. Communication is the "key" factor in working as a team and I still feel that we lack that. We either sail off in the sunset together or we drown in the ocean of failure together and I feel like we just sprang a big leak. The individuals are doing their individual jobs, but we are not doing it together.
We rarely on time with a show deadline because we are not communicating. Being the editor for the Halloween episode, I know from full experience that the clips were EVERYWHERE! I didn't know where the heck anything was, and I had to take it home and spend 12 hours making a good video. All in all, everything was finished, but it took forever to get it finished. I would think that with the Fall episode we would improve, but I think we're not okay with that. I have no idea where the episode is going, what we have filmed, and what the final product looks like. It's due in two days and I feel like we are not communicating.
Our live daily broadcasts have gradually gotten better because we are improving in our skills. I think we know the drill now, and we know what to expect so we are improving. I know yesterday was a setback because I was confused with the video switching. I observed some things from Brandon, but clearly I didn't take any of that in. I will be taught how to do it so the next few episodes should be better.
Individuals are rarely on time with PSA's and individual projects because I don't feel some people are taking it seriously. This is a fun class, but this is a CLASS! We have grades and projects and we are still evaluated on those things. We need to look at every project or assignment and realize that it has a due date attached to it.
Individuals in RamTV are not exactly cooperating with each other. Or at least I notice that with the teleprompter and anouncement people. Also, many people just joke around a lot before the broadcast. Therefor, we don’t get through run throughs seriously.
The show deadlines are often missed because we just are not that organized with our stuff. We just randomly pick up a camera on some days and decide that we are going to film. This would be much more smoothly if we would plan some things out.
I think our broadcasts have gotten better because we have assigned the jobs. We chose jobs that we like and are the best at, so that makes better quality for the show. Also, we have started to crack down on run throughs more. Even though they aren’t serious, we still at least get a few practice runs.
I feel that we don’t get the individual projects done maybe because of apathy. Or it could be because it’s not a group project, so we all scramble around to get information at the same time. Also, with a show to film and daily announcements to worry about, it tends to just get pushed to the side.
The group dynamic in the class room is very split. I'll admit, outside of this class, I can't stand a few certain people(s). I think inside the class, I bite my tounge and just get through with the job I have to do. I don't think we are not ever on time with getting the show out on the day it's due. I think the past shows have gotten out on the date we said it would air. People are starting to get used to their jobs, so the live broadcast is getting a lot better. I think we are lazy, all of us, including myself. We don't want to have to do the extra work, so we wait until the last minute to complete it.
Parker, is the show line up not a "plan"?
dynamic, it's alright, not nobel prize worthy, but getting better.
we are rarely on time with a show deadline because of: lack of communication, over use of "down time" computer issues, booking the macbook pro issues. none of which are good excuses. but that's what's up.
broadcasts have gotten better because: repetition... specialization has made us better at our jobs. we are more natural to something we know how to do. it works for us.
individuals are rarely on time with PSA's and individual projects because: one, we're lazy, two, we have a class meeting that usually lasts until 10:45, then we start run throughs at 11:15, count it bro, that's 30 minutes with two workstations that are crapping out. on top of our show, and our off task tendencies.
The group dynamics are pretty much straight when we all aren't strung out on "estrogenic-fumes". We tend to get along as long as one or a few of us aren't having an off day. We work our best when everyones in a good mood and on task.
uhh were never ontime with shows b/c
-our G5's are mad slow (the new OS helped a lot)
-though they are needed runthroughs take at least an extra 20-30 minutes from time we could use editing filming and stuff like that
-however, i myself as well as others don't always use our time wisely.
-on days after major screw-ups we usually spend like almost 30 minutes in a class meeting addressing it. so if we screwed up less we'd be in better shape
Broadcasts have gradually gotten better b/c of specialization and also just everyone just getting comfortable in the environment. broadcasts have become very routine and relatively just easier for us when were all "in the zone'
We are rarely on time with PSA's and indy projects b/c most of us are really just focused on other stuff and majorly "THE SHOW" we spend time importing and filming during most of the period so we really focus on the show and trying to recover after screw-ups.
