Weekly Reflection - First Show

How do you feel after viewing your first official broadcast of the Spring semester?

What did your peers have to say?

Watching your peers see the broadcast, what did they react well to?

How did you feel after reading the critiques?

What action will you take after reading them?

P.S.
Meh blogs get a "meh" grade..."thoughty" blogs get, well you know.

I was really excited to be able to watch the show. I got to see how everyone would react in the classroom, including the teacher.
I was in advanced functions at the time, and everyone in there laughed at it, including Ms. Nifong.

I wasn't really surprised after reading all the critiques. I did discover how truly stupid some of the people here are, but over all things went as well as I was hoping they would go. Honestly though..."the scale was confusing?". World Class Students has got to be one of the biggest lies ever.

The only thing I see that we need to improve on, according to the critiques, is the font on the slideshows, the black history month slide in specific, and a more consistent volume with the music.

No more last minute clips, that needs to stop.

I was just instantly proud because, it was something that my class created and everyone could see it.

The feedback that I got from my peers was pretty much all positive. Which is like a great accomplishment seeing as how they are not going to try to lie to me and tell me that the show was good when it really wasn't.

I didn't get to watch my peers, I was back in the studio watching with Luis and Magena, because we had turned the sound on.

Next time we will get the legend and the rate key correct, but other than that I feel like we did a good job and did what we were supposed to do. We didn't have any bad critiques and not necessarily mean ones for no reason but just bad talking about the quality.

Basically reading through the technical parts of the critique sheets. Figuring out how to give not only high content but a high quality show as well.

I too was excited to watch the show. I felt really proud of it since I did a ton of the work on it and although I know it could have been a lot better, I was still okay with the product. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to editing and I hate putting out anything that is less than my best. However, there were a lot of things stacked up against me that kept me from making it as good as I wanted to. Anyways, from what I could tell, everyone did like it. When I read comments about how people liked certain segments it made me feel proud of being a part of RAM TV. For the most part, I agreed when people said a segment was too long or too short. That was due to the immense amount of last minute clips I had to throw in to make the video 10 minutes long. We need to REALLY stop doing that for the rest of the semester. The main complaint was about not being able to read the font on the black history month segment but overall, that segment was one of the best parts of the show imo. There were a few things about volume level but honestly, that's probably the hardest part of anything in iMovie. Good luck to the next editor(s). It helps when you have two of them fyi.

I was so excited about our show! but I don't think it was the quality we could of made it, I feel as if we could do a lot more if we manage our time better.

our peers enjoyed it but the old ramtvers saw the little things we need to fix.

they reacted well to our lead ins and charles doing the interview and how not to do it.

Work more on the sound even though its hard to determine how good the quality is while editing.

the day the show came out I was in body wellness and my peers in the class did not see it although i did watch it along with Mr. Mitchem, and he kept commmenting on the black history month segment and his house, but anyway having that between me i didnt really get to here from my peers in 3rd period.

so i talked to a few of my freidns outside in the halllway during break and they had some positive comments and a few picked on me for my interview with Nina but we all live and learn. I think it was a success but it can DEFINNITELY be better and we'll all get it done better

I felt our first show was just good enough to get by, and I am very proud of Keith for TAKING THE INITIATIVE to step up and get ish done. I think he did a great job for basically editing the entire show alone... for the most part. I didn't hear any feedback besides what we heard in class so I assume the majority of the student body was pleased according to critique sheets. After reading the critiques I felt that we did a "good enough" job, but that the potential of some of the talent in this class is far beyond what we produced. As the editor of the next show, I will hope to have more support from my co editor than Keith had, and hopefully the next show will be much more up to the standards I have for this class.

How did I feel about after viewing the first official broadcast of the Spring semester?

I thought we were all going to look like idiots! But the miracle-from-God that Keith's editing skills are saved the show from being a complete failure. I got to see it from the studio and I was proud of all that everyone did for the show.

What did my peers have to say?

The people that I spoke to had lots of positive things to say about it. I can't remember anything specific but one of my friends calling it "kick @$$" woo hoo! haha...

How did I feel after reading the critiques?

I felt that many people were happy with the show! Someone wanted the music on it. Someone praised Bry and me. Jason's commentary was interesting. I thought it was crap at first but I realized that he knows what he's talking about (don't tell him that I admitted to that).

What action will you take after reading them?

So far I haven't done anything for the show because I've been letting the announcements take up all of my time. I'm excited to do the lead-ins with the cups! That's going to look GREAT! The things that we've gathered so far for the show have been interesting things and this show's editor is going to be Magena. This show should make up for the greatness the last one may have lacked.

I am really happy with our first Ram Tv show this semester. I am really proud of all the work that each of us did and I hope I next show will be even better than our first.

After viewing the show, I was so excited because I heard the feedback of all my peers in the hallway. Many said that they thought this show was the best on that the've seen at Highland.

During the show the people reacted to the lead ins the most in the show. They also liked the bloopers. I think they just liked seeing the Ram Tv staff. So we should continue putting more funny bloopers and more fun things that we do in ram tv on the show.

After reading the critiques I felt happy with some of the things that people wrote. People commented on the black history segment and said that I should have made the fonts bigger. The funniest comment about that segment was that there was too many black people. lol

After reading all the comments I will try to make sure that everything is easily visible for the viewers in the next show.

Because I was sick during most of the filiming and putting together the first show i didn't get to contribute to any of the ideas or really help at all. I am very proud of my fellow classmates for their hard work in making this first show a successful one. When watching my peers watch the show, they believed it to be one of the best RamTv shoes that they had seem in a while. I do believe we should try to up our game even more on this next show to impress our fellow classmates at highland, and I am glad I will get to be a part of it too.

Our first show was good. I liked the fact that all of us in some way contributed. For this first show the editing was great, way to go keith, and hopefully we wont have to scramble for footage on our next show. I hope I can help out more for the next show
