Its frustrating We're scrambling to get the monthly show together, then at three we have to get the live show together, and the individual projects are just in the way, to be honest. The monthly show we need to prioritize Live daily we need to get jobs and stick with them and stop rotating, that way we can get ready at 3:15 and have more time to focus on the monthly show. My individual project will be done as soon as I know what it actually is, so far its been the website and the archiving that will take ages. I really think they are getting in the way, and we don't have the time to get them done between the monthly show and live broadcasts. We have people trying to clean out closets, when we could be filming.
The folks in the closet are not my concern when there are others not doing anything....
The closet workers job is important and will greatly assist the workflow in the studio. ie: things are not "lost" in the closet, therefore there is not time lost while looking for items.
As far as juggling multiple projects/products, is that not a true life skill? Currently I am juggling several products for a presentation outside of school, as do most individuals in our building.
Go back and take another look at the original post...speak to our ability or inability to do what we have been asked to do.
Doing all of this stuff at one time is very annoying! what really gets me is I will forget that I have teleprompter one day and work on the closet and when its time for live I get stressed cause I have to cram all the stuff into the teleprompter. I really dont mind doing live but it can all get a little bit stressful. And the PSAs I have not started and it would be much easier to wait till our group projects are done before starting on that
Personally in my opinion we should be able to juggle live daily and our monthly show but our indiviudal projects are a little tedious even though I'm not complaining because the previous class had already recorded a lot of footage bry and I needed.
Oh my goodness!! I think it's too much! Ok... Now that that's been said... My personal ability to juggle things is alright. I see that I have been able to contribute to each of these, the daily show, the monthly show, and to my individual project, as I go along. I feel that the PSA is just one more thing that I don't know how it will get done. The way I have been getting my individual project done is by bits. I have been working on it here and there. Right now, what's left for it should be filming (and what entails that). For the upcoming show, I feel like I have contributed more than in any of the previous shows. I've filmed several events. And now I have to go film lead-ins so excuse the shortness....
Everyone that knows me knows that I'm extremely scatterbrained. I can't remember stuff all that well, and I'm constantly doing things to catch up.
To which I say: I'm working on it!
I'm proud at how everyone is starting to pitch in and actually get stuff done. It's something we've desperately needed to work on, and we've improved greatly (there's still work to be done, see April 16th blog for my rant).
As for "scrambling to get a show done," as Paiger so eloquently puts it: all ive got so say is that this wouldn't be a problem if we started on it as soon as we know what we're filming. This planning process should take place on the Thursday before the current show airs (hey, that's tomorrow, guys!). It's the same thing every show we've had: we don't plan until we notice that the deadline is starting to creep up behind us. (once again, more about this on my April 16th rant).
My individual project is in the final stretch, so that's nothing to worry about right now.
The PSA... sheesh... I still need to plan this, and I would have, buuuut... This show... yeeeaaaah.
I'm really trying to multitask, and I know everyone else is too. Let's keep improving!
Juggling the LIVE daily broadcast and the monthly show can be a little hard at times, because for the first part of the class, you could be doing something for the monthly show and then all the sudden its three o'clock and it seems like you just got into the groove of working.
During a full class time I would say that we have about and 45 min to work on things for the show because the meeting usually take up about 25 min and then we start on the LIVE Broadcast and that's really hard. When I get focused on something it's really hard to just change gears and start on something totally different. Jumping back and forth makes me loose my concentration and I can't remember what I'm doing from day to day. I guess it's hard for me to work without a set plan of what I need to do. But I'm starting to get used to it and I feel that I need to learn this skill for the real world.
I finished my independent task, and as for the PSA announcement, I really have no idea what I'm doing. I planned out what I was going to do but I don't know how to follow through. And even if I did try to film everything I get caught up in helping to get everything together for the LIVE broadcast and the Monthly show.
I just woke up so I'm sorry if I don't type too much. I agree it is hard to juggle everything but I do think it's possible to get everything done. However it seems like all the work in this class is lingering above our heads. Each monthly show we've managed to get done albeit the last minute every time. Live we get done and some days, actually most days recently, we have a hard time finding time to work on our projects. As for PSA's I know they were discussed months ago but I just think people haven't found the time to work on them.
If we all worked diligently we could accomplish everything without any problem, but we don't so there is no room to complain. Yeah it's stressful but I feel like this is nothing compared to what is to come after high school. So we should be taking the class as a way to prepare for the future but we aren't. We are all just so lazy in Ram TV, I know I am. I want to get things done, I just don't have the energy.
Our actually ability is more than there. I think that it can honestly be done. Everyone just can't be 100% focused all the time, I think its just natural we are teenagers hahaaa. but I feel like we WILL get everything done because all the people in my class dont want a failing grade. I've been in school with these kids for while, and everyone works different but I feel like everything will get done though.
In my opinion juggling all this is pretty difficult and annoying. The individual project just seem to get in the way. We are tryin to do three different things at the same time. I think we should get permanant jobs so that you know what your are going to be doing and we know how to do it. It would be much easier this way. With the monthly show i just think we need to get everything together but i know we can do it!
trying to manage all the stuff IS hard an everyone knows it. lik Magina said this aint notting compared to wat the real world has 2 offer 4 us. think abt it, Live Daily, Monthly Show, PSA, & Individaul Projects is alot 4 us to try and do. i believe we all are starting 2 get SENIORISTIS, hell i no i am hahahaha, but i no the stuff will get done, we just have 2 take it 1 step at a time.

Olivia just posted the one above.
