Weekly Reflection - November 16 - 19th

Tell me about YOUR week, start with Tuesday end with Friday.

Catch me up on all that I missed, please include your accomplishments for the week as well as any challenges that you faced.

I would also like to know your thoughts on the studio being closed on Friday. Please explain to me the depth of this consequence. (ie: it wasn't just the food....)

As soon as your blog is finished, please open a word doc, put your name , tell me the number grade that you feel that you have earned for this six weeks and justify the grade with no more than two paragraphs.

I felt that my week went pretty well. From Tuesday to Friday I was on task, and finished my teleprompting duties on time. I didn’t really face any challenges at all, felt that I got everything finished on time and in a resourceful manner. As for the studio being taken away from us, I do agree with this a suitable punishment. On Friday I felt it was unfair, but now that I really think about it, we deserved it just a bit. We’ve been warned many times, and we see the signs that state there is no food to be in the LMC and studio. So, I guess we put it upon ourselves. I don’t really see there being another reason to why the studio was closed, besides the fact that we broke another rule. So, that’s all my input on that.

tuesday i filmed my 2 minute video that was late, and i got it finished.
wensday we filmed the pleg, and did live daily.
thursday we reviewed the thanksgiving show, got caught eating and did live daily.
friday we did a typed paper on the videography magizines.
i think a punishment was to be given but not that harsh of a punishment, i mean when he came in there and found us eating, he was drinking something from a cup. IDK i jus think its a little hypocritical if you ask me...

On Tuesday we did our regular jobs for the Live broadcast, and everything went smooth, other than a few arguments that got resolved the next day. Wednesday we filmed the pledge for the RamTV Thanksgiving show, filmed some outros and finished up the two minute videos. Afterwards we got down to our jobs, and done the Live Broadcast which went better than the day before. On Thursday everything was going very well, up until the Live Broadcast, then Mr. Wingfield came in and got on to us about having food and drinks open in the room. Following that, we were shut out for the whole day, doing a paper on the videography. I think he just wanted to let us know that we broke the rules, so we had to deal with what we deserved.

This week was a good one for me. Tuesday I turned in my two minute video and imported some last minute footage and pulled it onto my flash drive. The live today started exactly on time and went very well. Wednesday I filmed the pledge, imported that and pulled it onto my flash drive. Once again, the live today started on time and went well. Thursday I burned the completed 4th show and turned it in to Ms. Dumont. I thought todays live was particularly good because our transitions were very smooth and eveything was exactly on point, this was by far the best live of that week.

The studio was closed on Friday, as far as I know because we continued to eat in there after being told not to. I do think we deserved this because we obviously were not listening and I know personally I will not be eating in there ever again. As far as it not being just the food, Im sure there were people slacking off throughout the week which may have contributed to the studio being closed.

The week was okay last week. To be honest, I finished all of my work, I don't know about my other classmates.

Well Tuesday, the PTSO thank you video got burned, some of the 2 min mid terms were turned in, and I learned how to do the video switcher which was so much easier than I thought it was. Wednesday we had a good day. Not too much drama, not too much arguing, and we actually had the episode finished by Wednesday which was awesome. Thursday, I worked on my PSA and we saw the next episode of RamTV. Jason and Dan did a great job because November is one of the slowest months during the school year and they made the episode really great. Thursday was also the last day we were in the studio. There was a food incident or something and we ended up being kicked out of the studio for Friday and Monday. On Friday, I burned my PSA and we all did the Videography article assignment again. It was quick and easy, and I worked on some spare homework. That was the whole week in one blog nutshell.

The studio being closed on Friday kind of annoyed me. All I know was that there was food in the studio, and even though you can tell someone a hundred times to not eat in the studio, they will do it anyway. I looked at this as more of a listening problem. When someone tells you to do something, just do it. Having food and drinks in the lab could lead to some equipment being damaged which can lead to the school shelling out hundreds to thousands of dollars to replace some equipment because others won't listen. It's ridiculous, and it's sad that all of us has to be punished for a few classmates' actions.

Tuesday: I had to stay and help Ms. D make some book things because she was time crunched and I turned in my 2 minute video. Wednesday: I Tried to get others to brainstorm but we couldn't realy think of anything that could be the theme of the show but we did try, and a LIVE broadcast. Thursday: Made sure everything was finished and complete, we watched the show. I helped others with their midterms. Friday: Wrote the article, did the critiques and thats all. We finished the show, we got banned from the studio due to food and drinks, we pulled off really good broadcasts, not too many arguements that stick out. Ummm I thought the only reason we were banned fro mthe studio was due to the fact of the food and drink incident I didn't realize their was anything else we were pretty much the same to my knowledge. If anything it was because everyone was in a great mood laughing and talking a few minutes before broadcast but we always do that. . .

Umm last week went pretty smoothly Tuesday I finished up my DVD but didn’t get to burn b/c computers were exporting for the show.

Wednesday’s shows went well Chavis and I improved on working sound and vid-switch. The DVD burner decided that it wasn’t going to burn my DVD so I lost more points.

Thursday was pretty good we watched the Thanksgiving Show looking for things we could "catch” so that they could be fixed if need be. Some of the staff got caught eating in the studio, but we still were allowed to continue and do the Thursday broadcast.

Friday we came in and Mr. Wingfield told us that the studio was closed for 2days to show us that "when we break rules they have the power to shut the studio down as a consequence" we all did our assignment before the end of class.

Thoughts on the studio being closed on Friday, hush it was understandable to me b/c we’ve been warned time and time again. It just shows what can happen when we aren’t obedient. Of course some could argue that shutting down the studio was too much, but we all know that had Wingfield let it go we'd still be eating in there.

Honestly, Ms. L, I can’t recall much of last week. This isn’t too odd, but it does make one wonder…
From what I can remember the week went like this:

Tuesday-
Two minute video assignment turned in for a grade. No new announcements, though I did quite a bit of correcting and rearranging. Thank you video burned (or attempted?), though I know not what became of it. My first period was still doing presentations, therefore I came down to do a bit of housekeeping. Did so well at task management, I ran out of things to do, thus causing me to check out multiple books and alternate between them and petty tasks. (Hey, look, I remember Tuesday!!!)

Wednesday-
Quite possibly there were no new announcements, which lead to work on the scrolling announcements other than deleting old slides. I am currently uncertain as to whether I read, ran around looking for things to do, or performed a combination of both activities mentioned.
Thursday-
Finally, new announcements! Entered the announcements into the notebook, passed them to Teleprompter, and signed off on them. More reading?

Friday-
I wrote the paper for the article assignment, then typed it up, printed it out, and handed it to Ms. Dumont. That pretty much encompassed my entire time in this class.

The reasons why the studio was closed, other than the food, are unknown to me. It could have appeared to the untrained eye that we were all slacking, but, as far as I am aware, work got done. Consequences of the studio closing… Obviously, we were given the article work to do in its place. The whole thing was not explained to me, and I don’t like speaking in theoretical form. I am sure of this, however, we will find out the full extent of our punishment soon.
