I enjoy this class, this is the first semester where I look forward to all my classes but especially RAM TV because I'm with my family and can relax… slightly. This is technically week three and I feel like we need to get it together because a majority of people are using the "I don't know how" excuse and it's irritating. As a group we all need to start taking the initiative to learn and apply what we learned. This is the only class we take where we are aloud to "guess and check" and we all need to take advantage of that. Today was the first day where I felt really accomplished, I did my job terribly but I learned a whole lot. I think and hope we all got an idea of how much teamwork is really going to be needed this semester, I really had no idea it was as crucial as it is. I also learned trouble shooting and found a hopefully successful solution to the live announcements transitions. I love that we already have some form of a bond and if we all can work together we can accomplish a lot, I do not expecting failure.

The first week was fun, I guess
We got to mess around a lot more than we should have, probably, but still I enjoyed it.
I actually learned how to use the cameras from doing the interview...had never touched them before that.
The most annoying thing about it is those god forsaken macs
I was only using them for a little bit when I was importing my interview and it was freezing up a lot.
I really liked working on the sound board, I think I can do it...the only annoying part about it is having to work that sad little DVD player that takes ages just to load a flag, but I'm sure we can work that out eventually.
Over all, it was a good week. Can't wait to see what happens once we all figure out what we're good at and really get rolling.
And yes, I'm aware that this is two days late...

My reflection on Ram TV would be that we have a lot to learn. I thought I knew a lot coming into this class, and I do, but there is still a lot more to learn about all the different positions. I think we were kinda lazy at the beginning but we really made up for it on Friday. I think that once Magena and I put the intro onto a single DVD, that will eliminate a lot of the problems we have. I am nervous about going live for realzies on Monday but if we do a few quick run throughs we should be good. Hopefully the dvd will burn in time. I'm fine with editing the first big show but I'd prefer to not have editing take over my entire life at home again. Other than that I think all these upcoming weeks will be very productive and fun.

My thoughts are that this class is a lot more stressful and time consuming then most people give us credit for, I learned that for this class to work that we have to put all our differences beside and work together to make a product that everyone is going to like. We also learned that we can't put aside everything and hope to finish it we have to actually sit down plan ahead and have everything ready before its time. I really think this class is going to teach us a lot more than just videography. I am really excited to learn everything that Ms.L has to teach us and I’m also excited to learn about the other class mates.

How many days have we been in this class? And what have we accomplished? Well, actually, a lot. Thanks (I may regret saying this later) to Jason, Chavis, Parker, and Charles. I consider this semester full of very lucky people because we have the opportunity to mingle with those already mentioned. When we sat down and committed ourselves to making a show, something actually got done. Kudos to Magena for using her loud voice to keep us all on track. I'm impressed with the idea that was brought up that's going to piece our first show together. The first couple of days, I don't think I actually saw the true face of this class. Now I see it head on. It's going to take work, dedication, and time. I feel, however, that with everything else going on right now, I'm going to have to fit those three things into the 90 minutes alotted for this class. We'll see how that works out. Overall, I am pleased to have some of my favorite people in the class and feel that cooperation between us should be relatively easy.

I was thinking about this and I forgot to say that I think we have a lot planned for this first show and that we might not be able to accomplish everything on our list. I love the family feud idea but putting that entire thing together is going to take a lot of time especially to have to create the props from scratch. Also, speaking from middle school video experience, it's going to be a tough job to try to get people from last semester unless Mrs. Gluck is really nice again, and even then that's still only like three or four people. I know we don't have to have EVERYONE but I do know that we're not going to film it perfect the first time so considering retakes, prop making, question making, arguing over what questions to do, and getting every other little thing in order it's quite a task to accomplish. I don't want to sound negative, and I'm not saying that we can't do it, I'm just saying it's going to be difficult for our first show and I will be very impressed if we pull this off.

It can't be that hard
If it turns out to be to much, we can always switch over to something else
There were a lot of good ideas, thats just one of many =p

The first few days seemed kinda relaxed. I had a feeling this class would be harder than what the whole school thinks it is and was right. After the fist couple of day of "relaxing" I got a little worried about our upcoming show because we as a class had not even talked about it. There was some relief on friday after we got the show planned, but we still got some work to do. It will be interesting to see what we come up with. I'm really looking forward to getting to know my classmates better, even though we spent the last 3 years in graphics together It really does not seem like I know them as well as I should. I think the teamwork will improve once we get used to working together. But other than that I think the first week was great!

when i came into RAM TV this semester i really thaought that this class was gonna be a easy and relaxing class were i could just cruise on by an get an A on my report card. Now that we have went over the stuff as a class I see that we have a BIG responsiblity for the ourselves and as well as the whole student body, these people look forward to the show and i do not wanna give them crap for the them to say, "boy that class really sucks at making stuff for us" i want this semster to rock and step outside the box we have th talent and were able to make some really sweet stuff for teh school to see. i think this class is gonna be fun but also a way for us to kinda get anotehr idea of college life, because i personallly think that this class is hard but yet it is Very easy to get off task and get to talking to people. I really am looking forward to what WE as a class will get done together and accomplish over the semester

I really do like RamTv. i really like classes where the teachers just let you be and let you pretty much govern your own work, because I feel like that will make me work harder actually. I want to just dive in to everything really and see what i am good at. I was a little nervous the first day because it was sort of overwhelming, but after day 2 i was just ready to jump in and try everything out. Honestly, this class is a learning in process and how much I learn will really depend on how much I try to get taught. I am SOOOOO excited to work with the classmates that I have now because i feel like were one of those classes that will have NO BEEF. I mean P.LOG and Luis will but you know how that goes lolll. We should and will most likely be able to accomplish ALL of our creative ideas because we have people who have GREAT ideas and can get a project going, they are also people who love to have fun, and that is like THE BEST combo that you can have.. So I am fully repping RAMTV semester 2 till i die!

Mageno Mo - well said and I appreciate your comment regarding guess and check, which I call trial and error. Teamwork being crucial is an understatement. *hanks for the DVD

Paiger – glad you finally got your hands on a camera. Pls expand on “ we got to mess around a lot more than we should have” Regarding the DVD player, that job isn’t part of the sound tech’s job….. no sticking your tongue out on my blog! =P

Keith – *hanks for the DVD, it does make things easier. Why did you feel previously, that editing (at home) took over your life? Productive and fun is good. Ps – Pinky promises are only breakable by death, just sayin’ (bonus pts for extra reflection)

O –“I really think this class is going to teach us a lot more than just videography.” This is my hope. <3

Luis – “It's going to take work, dedication, and time.” =) Great reflection Luis and I agree completely with your thanks to the first semester lovies that shared their time with you.

Paige L – Would you expand on why you don’t feel you know your classmates after three years of working together? Yes, it was a good first week. =]

CJ – not loving the screen name =p Nice reflection on what you thought verses reality.

Bry – What can I do to help “day 1” not be so overwhelming? Suggestions are always appreciated! Love the Plog/Luis comment. XD Great reflection.

When stepping in the media center the first day of this class i wasn't worried too much about the class and just thought it was about time to be a little relaxed and have some fun. We went over rules and filled out some papers and people came up with some ideas, but it really didn't seem like it was going to be that hard. When we started filming commericials i really realized that it took a lot to just film a little bit of footage and to get it right. Its not as easy as I thought it would be and it took a lot of creativity also. Overall the first week was a really good start to my semester in RamTv at Highland.

So far I really enjoy this class, and I really look forward to coming here everyday. I feel that this class is a great way to end my day, and my senior year. On the first week in the class, we learned the do's and don'ts about being in Ram TV. We learned about how we should be on camera and what each and every job consists of. I am really excited about doing each job in Ram TV. Overall I really like this class and I hope the rest of the semester goes as good as the first week. I hope we all get along and have no drama.By the end of the semester I hope to have more knowledge on how to work with people and be more comfortable with my classmates. Maybe this class will help me step out of my comfort zone, and thats something I really need to do.

Okay, so I know that this is really late, but better late than never, right? :/

The first week (to me, at least) was not as exciting as I thought it would be - "blah" to boring paperwork! XP But I guess it's like that for every class, and it should be expected.

I am pretty excited about doing RAM TV this semester. A great way to end the day, if you ask me.

Let's hope for the best!

Editing at home for the middle school video took over about 8hrs of my life since we were kinda behind with it and it was due the next day and for a lot of other reasons that was beyond my control it ended up that 90% of it had to be edited on the last day. I had to do the music for it too.
