Weeekly Reflection - March 1st

Please take a moment to reflect on your first show.

How are you feeling about the show itself?

How do you feel about your peers watching it and critiquing it?

Reflect on the process...what improvements need to be made? (the process, the group, etc.)

I believe we did very well on our first show. We did hit a few speed bumps with sound level for interviews (my fault), location of filming, and not seeing faces of those being filmed. What did surprise me was the fact that we critiqued ourselves more harshly than L did. We did good, but we can do better. Peace.

Alrighty then... I'm feeling pretty good about the show actually. We all had our nerves about getting enough film and such.. but we all pulled through! I'm feeling good about having the school watch it-people have asked me if it's going to be boring interviews and long sports clips and it isn't! Which I think is a really good thing. People will enjoy watching this show, I hope.
I think an improvement that needs to be made is communication-which happens in any group project.
But overall... our first show is pretty sweet!

I think that the first show was great. Like you said, we started off really weak, but then we ended up with a really great product. I think we worked well together overall. There weren't many arguments, and we usually got along and agreed.

I think the show is excellent. The editing was great, and I'm excited to see what the other kids in the class have to show.

Like I said, we all work together well, and we avoid arguments even though we butt heads anyway. I think next shows will be great also.

The show actually came together very well. Way better than what I expected. It was entertaining and unlike past shows it kept my interest throughout the entire show. I feel like the rest of the school will love the show just as much as I do. The only real problem I saw when reviewing the show is that there was a few problems with the video, but nothing really big. I had fun filming the show and I can't wait to see how people will react to it.

I think the first show is alright, not super amazing or anything. We had good footage but there wasn't anything that was super good to make the show more interesting.
I don't really feel anything about my peers watching the show and critiquing it. They either like it or hate it. So, I'm just prepared for the hate critiques.
I think we need to improve on our team work and listening to one another's different ideas or something.

I think we did pretty well as it is our first show. It was a bit rocky at first and everyone was stressing, but we got it done! I felt the critiquing could be a little biased. Most of the holdbacks were a technological factor, something we can't do anything about. All we can do is just keeping going and plan everything out better. The group we have really works well.

The show turned out pretty nice. I would like to have seen some more original ideas and I'm not good at that. I agree with Lynh that we should be more open to ideas and I hope that some of the quiet people will speak up because when they don't, I interpret that as apathy. I think people will be genuinely surprised with our show and enjoy it. What we should do better this time is have more content and more unity within our group.

I didn't think it would be possible for us to get everything together, but we did it! I'm pretty happy with our first show, I think we did a good job. I wish we could have had more comedic / funny segments, but I don't think that was possible with the material we had to cover. I look forward to seeing everyone's responses and reading them all.

I think we did very good on our first show even with being locked out of the studio for a day and all the technical troubles. I believe our peers will like it but some probably wont depending on people's personality, but kind of nervous about their feedback. Improvements would probably be checking the tape to make sure it doesn't pixalate no where on it when being played. Make sure the interviews and music and anyone talking is loud enough to hear over any background noise. We need more group work involving everyone like helping to edit or find sound effects or something.

Our first show has actually better than I thought it would be. Its not boring compared to some other shows I have seen, and I really think our peers will have positive feedback. So overall I'm excited about our first show! :)

I really liked our first show. I thought everything came together amazingly well. At first I was scared that we would not reach the time limit that was required, but we pulled through. I thought the show turned out very well and I look forward to hearing about it from the school

@Sean - A critique is a detailed evaluation by definition and at times nothing more than someone's opinion. That someone could have knowledge about the topic and therefor give good solid, constructive criticsm or that person might not have any knowledge about the topic. In that case the person will simply indicate what they liked or didn't like. Having said that, please elaborate on your comment. "I felt the critiquing could be a little biased."

Well, it's because we're the ones that worked on this, so I felt that the class critiques we gave might have been a little biased as most are going to like their work rather than be critical.
I'd rather have fresh eyes to critique than someone that's seen it. But I suppose that some of us in the class are more able to point out stuff than others.
